Q: What paint do you use?

A: The only paint I use is Snazaroo. Snazaroo is guaranteed non toxic and hypo allergenic. Snazaroo face paints wash off with water but last a very long time while maintaining vibrant color if they are not smeared while wet. Best of all, my face paints will not stain fabric so when your child wants to go to sleep with a painted face; you will not have to worry about stained clothing or bedding. When you have the opportunity to use a face painter please be sure they are not using acrylic paints, fabric paints, tempera paints or nail polish on your childs' skin. None of these ingredients are good for your child but there are a lot of clowns and non professional face painters who use all of the above to paint your childs' skin. You want to be very sure they use only hypo allergenic, cosmetic quality face paint.

Why do you use face paint versus acrylic or tempera paint?

A:Even with a number of good quality FDA approved face paints it still seems like you can find the occasional face painter out there using acrylic or tempra paints. They claim they have been using them for years and years with no problem. You might also hear them say they like they way they apply or look when dried. The bottom line is one should not use any paint on the face or skin that does not have a FDA ingredient approval and is regulated as a cosmetic good. To be extra safe you should also look for a face paint that also has a "Child Toy Safety Rating". Following you will find ample reading on why you should NOT use acrylic paints. You will even hear this from the world's two most used acrylic paint manufacturers Liquitex and Apple Barrel.
